A Burden for Soul-Winning

I want to take a moment and praise the Lord for the many opportunities He has given to us to share the gospel of Christ during this COVID19 Pandemic. As you know, this has been a difficult season to share the gospel, but it is still possible!

Recently, my wife and I were blessed to lead a single mother to the Lord! There we were in the middle of a pandemic, wearing a mask and gloves and standing on her front porch, sharing the gospel. It was hot and humid which made it difficult to breathe in a mask, let alone talk. But, I am excited to say she put her trust and faith in Jesus that day.

Soul-winning is still important! The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) has not changed. We are constantly looking for new ways to share the gospel with people. We may not be able to go door-knocking, canvassing, or visitation as a church but as individuals, we can still witness to others.

At the Lord's leading, we have made banana bread, wrapped it up, placed it in a bag, and put one of our tracts in it, and then gave one for each of our neighbors in hopes of sharing the gospel. We found some things around the house that we didn't need and listed them on eBay and stuck a tract in each package. Many of those eBayers have subscribed to our newsletter (welcome eBay friends).

We are working on a huge website/social media/email campaign to share the gospel in the area God is calling us. Finally, God has placed it on our hearts to begin looking for like-minded churches in Canada and reaching out to them to see what a family in Martinsville, OH can do to help them reach souls.

It is our hope to reach the lost and to encourage and excite others to do the same. Please share any ideas the Lord has given you to reach the lost. We look forward to hearing from you.

God bless,

Steven Pratt, Jr.

THE UNITED STATES & CANADA BORDER

The latest news on the United States and Canada border.

Canada- U.S. border to remain closed to non-essential travel until July 21 | CBC News

The Canada-U.S. border will remain closed to non-essential travel for at least another 30 days to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus as confirmed cases in the United States continue to climb past the two million mark.

I have been watching CBC Newsfeeds in order to gain information related to the border closure and I don't believe that July 21 will be the day the border will reopen. Justin Trudeau (Canada's Prime Minister) has mentioned that the border could remain closed until August or longer. Even if the borders reopen up on July 21 there will still be stages or phases in which they will open. The good news is that some family members are able to reunite under special circumstances. I see this being somewhat of a first step.

Once her house sells, she will be taking over our house payment allowing us to continue on our calling without the burden of a house payment. Once we move to Canada she will either continue to live in our house or we will sell it and she will move closer to our sending church.

Welcome to Walmart! (Kara got a new job!)

Come into our local Walmart and you might see this face... I mean mask. Rest assured she is smiling under it.

Mom and I are super proud of this little girl! Our little girl has just graduated and is now in the workforce. They are not kidding when they say kids grow up fast. The best part is hearing about her day. We can't help but smile as she enters adulthood and shares her day with us.

Please pray for Kara's safety as she is now an essential employee.

Guess Who is Going to PreSchool?

That's right! Elizabeth was accepted into Bright Beginnings Preschool at our sending church, Bible Baptist Church Wilmington.

Her first day of school is on Sept 1, which so happens to be her 4th Birthday! She is so excited to be able to go to school and make new friends.

Above is a picture of Elizabeth fast asleep on a trip to pick up her big sister from work. On the right, Mom and Elizabeth are twinning for Sunday morning services.

Happy 16th Birthday, Steven!

On July 3rd our little firecracker has his sixteenth birthday! Steven is excited to be able to celebrate his sixteenth birthday. He has invited a few friends for a campout at the house. Things Steven is looking forward to this year:

  • Getting his drivers license (pray for us! LOL)

  • Getting a summer job. (to buy more video games)

  • Starting Laurel Oaks - Video Game Development / IT

  • Tour College (Heartland Baptist Bible College)

  • Start looking for scholarships

  • Trip(s) to Canada

PRAYER REQUESTS

* IMPORTANT: Pray for God to open a door for a six-month full-time staff position for Steve. In order to qualify for Career Missionary with the BBFI, Steve needs six months of staff experience.

* UPDATE: Pray for our Gospel Video / Campaign. After months of technical issues, Steve was able to talk with a friend at our sending church ( a video guru). He taught Steve a lot about what we need in order to get our videos working. Praise the Lord! Please continue to pray as we are seeking to make these gospel videos to share within the area we are called.

* PRAYER ANSWERED! Pray for Kara as she steps out into the world. She is currently looking for a full-time job.

* CONTINUE: Pray for Canada! Pray that their hearts will be softened to the gospel and that they will call upon the name of the Lord! And pray the border opens soon.
